Job Description


Leads and executes experimentation projects as the enterprise wide experimentation expert These strategic experiments will provide insight into client needs and behavior supporting marketing and client servicing decisions Serves as the experimentation expert for cross functional teams for large strategic initiatives Serves as own Project Manager and Relationship Manager for statistical experimentation projects Raises Vanguard s overall experimentation acumen through coaching consultations and assistance to local teams as they look to adopt experiments Acquires structured and unstructured data and prepares it for analysis Investigates extracts cleans transforms QCs and manages data using SQL and Base SAS programming techniques Identifies and diagnoses data inconsistencies and errors forages to fill data gaps and blazes new data trails Prepares and delivers insight presentations and action recommendations Communicates complex material in layman s terms Guides business partners on the interpretation implications and use of analytic results Consults on statistical problems test design significance testing confidence intervals weighting Actively share your expertise across Vanguard and the industry Become a vocal member of Vanguard s broader analytics community Develops and applies domain knowledge of Vanguard s businesses and data to shape the strategic decision making Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required Years of Experience Education Work Experience and Qualifications Undergraduate degree in an analytically oriented major such as economics statistics mathematics or an applied social science or equivalent combination of training and experience Advanced degree preferred Academic training in applied statistics Minimum five years of relevant work experience in relevent industries Proven track record leading the development and delivery of advanced actionable analytic products and services Strong experience in Design of Experiments and Natural Experiments Strong knowledge of parametric t test chi square F Fisher and non paramentric tests for example Kolmogorov Smirnov Strong experience with biased samples Knowledge in Propensity Score Matching methodologies or similar Strong experience in univariate and multivariate multi factors testing Excellent written and verbal communications skills including strong presentation skills Exceptional leadership organizational and interpersonal skills Strong data engineering skills e g Linear and logarithmic regression Clustering Gaussian distribution k means hierarchical Association confidence lift Classification i e random forests SVM nearest neighbor boosting Outlier Anomaly Strong proficiency in Python R Spark Scala PySpark AWS and Cloud Env Knowledge of Financial Services and Marketinis
