Are you interested in a highly visible medical affairs role that allows you to design training and program content that educates and shapes awareness of our medicines? If so, this Strategic Program Director, Immuno-Oncology role could be an ideal opportunity to explore.

This person will work closely with the Global Medical Affairs Lead (GMAL) to develop and maintain the Global Medical Affairs strategy for key assets post proof of concept, track progress across all related workstreams, and ensure global cross-functional alignment among key stakeholders, including commercial, research and development, and regional affiliates. Their primary focus will be on GSK s anti-PD-1 antibody, dostarlimab, which will likely launch in 2020. They may also support GSK s growing immuno-oncology pipeline, with an initial emphasis on GSK s targeted agents for TIM-3, ICOS, and TGF-beta trap/PD-L1.

They will function both to provide strategic oversight and project management for the GMAL, freeing the GMAL to focus on developing the foundational strategy and providing detailed medical guidance for the program. They will focus as a bridge to the other assets, ensuring alignment with other programs in the same or similar disease areas and ensure optimal use of resources.

Responsible for creating and maintaining the integrated medical affairs plan under direction of GMAL

Co-chair and facilitate Global Medical Affairs Team (GMAT). Accountable to agenda and minutes in alignment with GMAL.

Ensure GMAT and strategic plans are aligned to GSK processes and policies, and consistent within the Global Medical Affairs standards

Develop, maintain, and track global program launch plans

Help develop and track key performance indicators for key program

Consolidate and support the development of program budget

Ensure alignment between regional and global strategy

Manage alliance activities

Support external medical expert engagement, including external expert identification, advisory boards, and patient advocacy

Help identify strategic gaps, educational needs, and synergies/risks with other programs across the portfolio

Provide some management support for early IO programs (not exceeding 20% of time)

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor s degree in a scientific discipline
  • Minimum 5 years experience in medical affairs, with 3 years defining strategy and delivering on execution of strategy. Immuno-oncology experience a plus.
  • Experience designing and developing training programs and educational tools
  • Project management experience, with specific experience leading large-scale training initiatives
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • PhD/PharmD/RN in a scientific discipline
  • Strong organizational, planning, and business acumen skills
  • Ability to prioritize business needs and flexibility to address them when business appropriate
