Job Details

Job Summary: Is an essential and empowered member of the UPMC Pinnacle health care team who is responsible for all aspects of unit-based education and staff development. Provides leadership to the patient care team through continuously monitoring, analyzing, and improving the performance of clinical activities. Is a registered nurse with advanced skills and competence in the clinical area, providing direct patient care, facilitating staff education, providing feedback to the nurse manager regarding staff performance, evaluating competency of staff, and validating the appropriateness of patient care management.

Job Requirements: Current active Pennsylvania RN license. Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Minimum of three year's clinical nursing experience in specific specialty area with a comprehensive knowledge base. Must demonstrate strong leadership skills and clinical competency.

Preferred Qualifications: Masters of Science in Nursing. Certification in area of specialty preferred but expected within 1 year of hire into the NPDS role.
