Position Overview As a Database Manager Sr within TIS MyCTO organization, you will be part of a diversified financial services firm that reflects the needs, values and goals of our customers, employees, communities and shareholders. You will be instrumental in helping to maintain PNC s reputation for technology excellence in both business applications and new innovations. Within the Retail & Home Lending MyCTO Team, you will be aligned to our MIS / LOB business partners and fill a vital role as we look to further develop our consultative skillset specific to database technologies. Acting as a single point of contact for all DBMS inquiries related to database design / sizing, adherence to PNC s reference architectures & avocation of industry best practices, you will leverage both your technical and customer service skillsets to effectively partner with our customer base as they manage their application portfolios through the lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong IT Infrastructure technical background with a high level understanding of Midrange and Windows platforms, SAN/NAS, Data Security, hardware procurement / provisioning and a deep technical skillset in administering / designing / building SQL/Oracle Databases. Additionally, knowledge of process design / modeling and familiarity with DevOps process and nomenclature is a plus given we are delivering the infrastructure technologies referenced above within a DevOps driven environment. Job Description Manages the design, development, maintenance and safety of complex databases. Provides a strategic level of technical leadership to the database programming group, IT, and the enterprise. Directs other IT functions to develop and improve databases and master files. Coordinates software issues with other IT organizations. Performs technical audits of all internal databases. Performs functions such as backup and recovery, database consistency checking, loading and unloading data. Establishes policies and procedures related to data security and integrity; monitors and limits database access as needed. IT Standards, Procedures & Policies Knowledge of and the ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures. Planning: Tactical, Strategic Ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan. Problem Solving Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Work Experience Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
